Clwyd Clubhouse "The Cage"

"In mid 2008 it was decided to move out of the Caernarfon clubhouse with a view to finding somewhere closer to the majority of the members
In December 2008 a suitable property was located by one one of the members (Daz )
The property is on a small industrial estate in a small village on the outskirts of Wrexham
The property was a recently vacated off road bike shop / garage , the deal was done and CCW Clwyd took possession of the premises
Using materials salvages from the Caernarfon clubhouse and materials sourced by various Clwyd members , work commenced on converting the building into a suitable clubhouse , members worked on the building as and when they could with some members practically living on site .
The upstairs of the building , which was a storage area was deemed not suitably load bearing so was ripped out and rebuilt using a suitable RSJ , joist hangers and joists then a strengthened floor was fitted .
A Kitchen area was then kitted out by Clwyd member “ Phil Scoot “ with plumbing carried out by Chris ( Honorary ), a bar was built by Clwyd member Daz , wiring carried out by resident spark Frank “Spawn” , Carpets sourced by Martyn , Brickwork , plastering , concreting tiling and Decorating was carried out by all members with materials begged stolen or borrowed .from various sources
The clubhouse was christened “The Cage “ and was ready for its maiden voyage and official opening night which happened to be the St Davids day party 2009 ( which was a resounding success ) since then the clubhouse has gone from strength to strength and is used on a regular basis by its members and club guests
If you are fortunate enough to be invited to the Cage please treat the clubhouse , members and guests with respect , and enjoy your visit .
